Roger designs and handcrafts for the discerning client. His contemporary design concepts display an enthusiasm for bold structural forms.
The keynote of his style is an elegant simplicity of line focusing mainly on innovative settings for diamonds and other precious stones.
Working in gold and in platinum, aimed at the upper end of the contemporary market he uses only high-grade diamonds (G VS to D Flawless and also 'fancy' colours) and the finest sapphires, rubies, emeralds, tanzanite, black opal, aquamarine and other more rare precious stones.
Any design can be produced to a client's requirements, but the pieces in Roger's own collections focus on the more contemporary, adventurous settings.
Often mounting diamonds in 'tension' or similar settings, he aims to expose the maximum stone surface to the light - thus gaining the greatest benefit from the very fine quality gems used.
Roger prefers to produce individual pieces for private clients rather than supplying retail outlets. In this way any form of volume production is avoided and, at the same time, fine quality gem-set pieces can be made at sensible, pre-retail prices.
The Mews Studio is a converted coach house in a delightful courtyard setting with its own ample car park. The studio provides a relaxed, informal and comfortable environment for visitors to view samples of jewellery, discuss gemstone topics, jewellery design or jewellery making methods - with no obligation to buy.
The studio is generally open for drop-in visitors, Tuesday to Saturday - but an appointment may be preferable, as Roger is usually away one day each week meeting clients in London. Appointments out of hours are available if preferred.
Located just off the M25 in Surrey and close to Kent and Sussex borders, with Redhill mainline station a short cab or bus ride, the studio is easily accessible from most of the South East of England. See contact page for location map.
Alternatively, as mentioned above, Roger sets aside one day per week to meet clients in Central London.

"I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say THANK YOU. I am absolutely thrilled with my eternity ring. I had a vision of what it would look like but the real thing exceeds all my hopes and wishes. Thank you so very much."

"My pendant is much admired. I had to take my son's watch to the jeweller near my office and the staff (5 in total and different ones each visit) all commented on my pendant, remarking on its brilliance and unusual setting. Just wanted to let you know, the professionals admire it as much as I do."

"The mandarin spessartite ear-rings went down a storm. They really did look beautiful and suited my grand-daughter well. Katherine was also very interested in the information you wrote for her about the stones and her birthstone.
Thank you again for all your attention and skill."
